I REALLY like how this blanket I am knitting Kier is coming out. I will scan pictues after I do a few more rows and it is easier to see it. It's just a strip of about 11 rows right now. I'm using Lion Brand Homespun, in colonial (its blue). I'm going to go to the site and pick out a color for Jer's now, even though I won't be starting it until I finish K's. OH also, I got three skeins of the yarn, is that enough for a blanket??? I wasnt sure how much to get. For an almost two year old. It doesn't have to be huge of course, but If I should need another I probably should go get it now so I can get the same lot number or whatever right?
I finished the washcloth, just a few minutes ago actually. I need to better learn how to sew things together, it looks funny. Oh well. hehe. First trys ; )
I love how the short rows made it into a circle though, so so cool. I found the pattern for the bigger ones, using 15 stitches.
Today I bought more yarn. Some homespun, in blue, that I started making a blanket out of (no pattern, just having fun and playing around). And a skein of Chenille Think & Quick that was on clearance at Walmart, I think they got a new lot in or were just getting rid of that color for some reason. I had wanted one to make a scarf, but it's expensive. heh. Clearance rocks. And I also got some blue Baby Clouds yarn on clearance (i have a skein of white & half a skein of the pastely one left over from the blanket). And one other thing. red heart baby teri, it had a pattern on the back for the cutest little sweater. I just couldn't resist. I also got a set of Darning Needles since I can't find mine.
I actually wanted to get some white peaches & cream cotton yarn, but they didn't have any. The whole shelf of knitting stuff was gone. I didn't feel like talking to anyone (anti-social person that I am) so I didn't even ask about it, just looked around, grabbed the other stuff, and got out of there.
Ok I am up WAY too late. I've been going to bed at 11 these days. SO tired. Yawn. I'll get a pic of the washcloth soon.
I have not been knitting much since I finished that baby blanket but today I decided to work some more on the washcloth I was doing for Jer & discovered he pulled it off the needle. I do NOT have the patience to put stitches back on needles. Especially when I know my knitting time is limited to the baby's naptime, so I decided to start something else. A couple of months ago I printed out This pattern for a round baby washcloth. I couldn't find metal size 9 needles so I just grabbed size 10-hopefully it won't make it look too funny being off a size. I grabbed some peaches & cream yarn (diff shades of green-Jer's favorite color) and started knitting. I have done two sections so far and they go by SO fast. I have a feeling the next baby gift I give will be a bunch of these and some baby bath things. A rubber ducky. And maybe even a baby bathtub to go with it, I rarely used mine but I guess everyone is different. Of course I want to do baby blankets too.
I still have not attempted a sweater or anything. I want to do some more hats on DPNs or get some more circular needles like the ones that I did the baby blanket on but shorter. They were great. I think they were Susan Bates, I can't remember now.
At a baby shower I went to last night a couple of women from church got together with the same yarn, one of the crocheted a blanket and the other knit a little sweater. It was so cute! I am going to ask her for advice when I need help knitting sweaters. Heh. She sewed my wedding dress for me, as well as my bridesmaid dresses and my sisters flower girl dress and my brothers ring bearer vest. She also made the baby (last night) a beautiful old fashioned Christening gown. It reminds me a lot of the one that we use, it was my great grandfathers when he was a baby. Soo many family members have been baptised in it, its beautiful.
Oh anyway. Yeah the knit stuff, there was also a knit sweater hat & bootie set that a parish members mother sent even though she couldn't make it to the shower. I fingered these things for so long. Looking at the patterns and feeling the yarn. I am in love with knitting. So back to the washcloth I go... I wonder where my needle thing is at... I forget what its called and it's driving me nuts. But it's "lost" moving. Blah.
