I started the baby afghan I am knitting with the Red Heart Baby Clouds yarn. I got the size 15 circular needles from Hobby Lobby tonight. I actually did not buy any yarn. I was tempted however. .
Knitting and chatting are a bad combination. I only have one row done and I have been working on it over an hour. Hehe. I will knit when we watch our movie later (Unbreakable. His choice).
Ok so I started a tie pattern from the little booklet for Lion Brand Wool-Ease Sportweight Yarn I got from walmart a few weeks ago. I didnt check my gauge. It was 21 stitches to 2.5 inches, I am getting 21 stitches to 3.5 inches. Sooo i'm going to start over and cast on less I guess. Or do I cast on the same amount, on smaller needles? hmmm... Hey I have time for trial & error. Fathers day isn't till June. hee
What is it I have read a million times in the past month or so since I started knitting? Oh yeah, Always check your gauge. Heh.
Um yeah another question ( i would call it a stupid question, but then I would hear "There are no stupid questions" la de da da da and I gotta know. . . ) I am looking at a pattern that uses twooooo different size needles. It says "Change to smaller needles" Ok. HOW do you change to different needles? Do you slip the stitches over. Do you knit them over. Do you use a stitch holder and get them off the big needle then on to the small one?
I didn't watch Judging Amy you know. it was Jer's bedtime, we wanted to watch a few minutes of the news, and yeah it just suddenly was ten. now its eleven! I need to write. finally got the baby back to sleep. Then I go to bed. By twelve. Yes I will!!!!!
OOOOOOOOOH Ren wants to go to the yarn store saturday morning. Jump up and down in a circle and clap for me!!!!!!! I am excited.
And um. Yeah my mom is like "I have not knit since i was a kid" blah blah blah. and etc. She was telling me bout a sweater she knit where one arm was higher than the other. . . hehe. And yeah I sent a couple more pairs of needles & a couple skeins of yarn with my sister for them.
Umm I got another set and a half done on the dishcloth pattern I said I was doing a few days ago. I'm trying to do a set of 6 rows a day, but that isn't working so well. Close though. because like I did yeah. I started with a half done one today, and finished up to half the next one. Ok It is sorta getting done. Also I was in the bathroom with the boys watching the news and freaking out, and I was like Must get my knitting and I did and I calmed down. Therapy. And that my friends makes me want to go to the knitters review forums, but I have other things to do. Writing things. Must go now. G'night.
My mom and both my sisters were knitting last night/today. My 9 yo sister started with 7 stitches & ended up with 12. (She was supposed to just be knitting a little square ya know? hehe). My mom is teasing me that she is fast than I am. But she knit before (I think?) she did crochet before anyways. And my other sister was just like Hey I learned how to knit. And told me all this. I guess leaving a set of needles & a skein of yarn over there for my 9 yo sister was a good idea? I just wish I could have been there with them to all do this together. Oh well. They want more needles (good thing I got a lot of ebay huh?) and maybe more yarn. Ohhh can I part with it???. . LOL.
At least now I am quite sure I can make it to the yarn store & probably knitting guild meetings. Woowoo.
Gotta go fix the boys their fruit, the stinky weather delayed desert a couple hours.
Ok I fixed the dropped stitch. I un-knit. hehe. My sister called me crazy when I told her that. Anyway, it worked and now I'm already almost two rows up again. I didn't feel like knitting all day though, because of that darn dropped stitch, but now I want to knit. But I want to sleep. We are watching Kiss Of The Dragon, well I am sort of watching it. Mostly listening. And knitting. Yay.
I used my new magazine to try to knit the continental way, but I decided to try that out on a practice piece instead because it seems like it will be hard to get used to, and it makes my stitches loose until I learn exactly what to do I guess??? Yeah well so I'm working on it. I'll update on my progress.

Can't believe i forgot to ask, i am going to buy the circular needle this pattern calls for online. i *think* it says size 15. Anyway I need suggestions of where to buy online. I'm going to do some ebaying real quick, but argh jasons home with lunch. yum wendys. laters ; )
I'm procrastinating. I want to work on my thingi i'm knitting but I don't want to deal with the dropped stitch. My eyes got TOO tired last night, I headed to bed around midnight I think it was? Yeah something like that. I was like, goodNIGHT. hehe. Then when I woke up, jason wasn't in bed still-he had already gotten up. Heh.
So anyway, what did I get at walmart last night, and will we ever get through walmart without buying yarn ever ever again?? I doubt it. Ooh i got some big beads for the boys to string. fun. But back to the knitting stuff. I got a crochet hook for picking up stitches, more peaches and cream yarn (yeah i likes and i'm trying to get some washcloths we need em), and four skeins of red heart baby clouds for a baby blanket pattern I want to do. I need to go find the URL again, but it is SO pretty. I got white & pastels, just in case the ultrasound turned out to be wrong or whatever. And um. I guess that is it. Hmm. Oh i got a little how to book on knitting, crochet, tatting, and embroidery. The illustrations for crochet look easier than the ones I have used to learn before, so we'll see if I can do it. And I found Family Circle Easy Knitting magazine, yay. I really like the little toddler size jumper #31 for anyone who has the magazine. I don't think I could do that right now, but someday I will. And also, I like Judging Amy but have not watched it for so long. Someone remind me when Tuesday comes around again.
Also, before I head to bed, I gotta say that if you let your 18 month old get a hold of a ball of yarn (it happened to be the peaches & cream cotton stuff i'm using to knit the dishclothes) get it from him immediately because if you wait for even just a minute you will spend a couple hours untangling it.

Ow size 3 needles are pointy. My fingers needed a rest. I couldn't keep my mind on keeping my fingers off the tips of those things. Woops. I'm having fun though yay knitting, fun. Why did I choose a small size? Cause i'm a dork. really, I wanted to try out something new.
I watched Legally Blond while knitting. It was a cute movie, jas asked if I was going to watch it again before we returned it and I did this "um, no" thing. Some movies I do that, but not this one. Unless I get bored and want something on while knitting another night.
I'm going to either knit six more rows on that facecloth, or read. And then i'm gonna go to bed because I am waking up at eight. Yes I am.
